Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I always have good intentions of doing it then something comes up at work or at home and I just put it off. Well that's life isn't it? lol
Updates:
Cyrelle- Well she is almost done with 4th grade. I have to say this has been an amazing year for her and has truly enjoyed school to the fullest. She and I nominated her teacher for Parkland's Best Teacher and she WON! 90 votes later and Mrs. Counts is now Parkland Best Teacher. For the grand prize she won $100 cash. Cyrelle told me that Mrs. Counts let the class decide what to do with the money and yesterday the class presented it to the librarian. Cyrelle said she was very excited and honored to receive the money from the class.
She is wanting to start dance class here in the summer to see if it's something she will like to continue through the school year. (It's too expensive for her to change her mind later so we'll give the summer classes a shot first) She finished basketball in March and continues to practice daily in the back yard. She's also been helping Parker with his baseball practice outside. It's so nice to see them getting along and working together. (Sometimes are impossible)
Cyrelle is going to Blue Mountain Church Camp this summer with our church and she is SUPER EXCITED about it. This will be her first year going and I hope she has as much fun as possible, make new friends, and learn about God while being there.
This is the most recent pic of Cyrelle at her musical play in March with
her best friend Brianna. They are two pea's in pod for sure.
Parker- He's almost done with 5th grade. Yes 5th grade. He's growing up so fast it's hard to believe just 5 years ago when I met him he was just a little boy at 5 years old. Now he's almost as tall as my shoulders and still growing and going to be 12 in November. He's still skinny as ever (I think he gets it from daddy as a kid). He's doing amazing in school and since the school has put him on a plan to help accommodate him and the work load he can do things have improved a TON! Thanks to the school for being patient with us and doing everything they can for Parker.
Parker has started baseball. This year he's playing for the City of Desloge (1st year here) and he seems to be learning a lot more and improving more and more each time they practice. Although he keeps outgrowing his equipment. Just last weekend we got a new bat and now he needs a new glove. The older they get the more expensive they get :( It's worth all of being able to see how passionate he is about baseball when he plays. This year his team is "Lightening"
Parker is also going to Blue Mountain Church Camp this summer. He's also very excited and this will be his first year there. I know he's going to have a blast and learn a lot also.
(I don't have a picture of Parker at this time. He hates his picture being taken and it's a hassle to argue to get it)
Travis- He's been working, working, and working non stop. If he's not at work he's working at home on the house or helping with baseball with Parker's team. We've been working almost every weekend when it's nice on the outside of the house. Its coming along nice. Just a lot of work. Here's a few pictures of what we've been doing lately.
Front flower bed and window boxes. (we used tongue
depressors to mark where we put the bulbs)
Right side of the house. Used mostly hosta's etc for this b/c
its shady and no one really sees it unless you walk all the way around the house
New back patio. Travis is working won drainage for the gutters here
and Cyrelle is always right in front lol
Cyrelle's head again
Here's a better shot of it all. Good news is grass is starting to grow now.
It's only been 2 weeks since we planted the seed.
Brittney- I've been good. Hand surgery was on the 19th of March and it is healing up very well. I still have some numbness and tingly in my finger tips but doc said that it should be completely gone in 3-4 more weeks. If not then I need to go back so I'm praying for the best. I still can't do all my normal things like opening jars, squeezing and making a fist is in progress.
This was taken the day of the surgery.
This was taken 3 days after surgery.
I've been getting in the habit of doing Zumba and walking more each day. Some days are hard b/c I have degenerative disk disease in my back and it's makes it hard to get around from time to time then other days you wouldn't even notice I have anything wrong. I lost 2 pounds last week so it's a good start. Only have about 30-40 more to go.
Work has been slow since we don't have a full time agent in our office but that will change beginning of June. We have a agent finally but she has to go to several weeks of training before she can start. I'm excited about the change. She seems really nice and we seem to hit it off so far so that's good. She is very outgoing and for this job that is a good thing.
One of my hobbies lately is couponing. I had to take a brake for a short period while my hand healed but now I'm getting back in the groove of things. I love saving money. Who doesn't like saving money??
Well I'd better get off here and get back to work got a lot of things to do to get ready for when the new agent gets started :)
